Starting from 2027, the 21st edition of the exhibition will relocate to Shenzhen, to get closer to the core clusters of the current mould industry. Shenzhen, together with its neighbouring cities including Dongguan and Huizhou, forms one of China’s most densely‑populated mould industry hubs. At present, the Pearl River Delta boasts a mould industry scale of approximately RMB 198 billion, with Shenzhen and Dongguan jointly accounting for 78% of the region’s industrial added value. Bao’an District in Shenzhen is home to over 1,200 mould enterprises, among which high‑precision mould manufacturers make up more than 45%. Dongguan has more than 20,000 mould‑related business entities. The hardware mould industrial cluster in Chang’an Town enables a closed‑loop procurement covering raw materials to components within a 30‑minute driving radius.
The 2027 exhibition will be co‑located with Formnext Asia Shenzhen. Mould manufacturing and additive manufacturing feature natural complementarity in technical approaches. Additive manufacturing is indispensable for conformal cooling, rapid prototype validation, direct forming of complex structures and other processes. The co‑location of the two shows will fully cover both subtractive and additive manufacturing sectors, delivering one‑stop comprehensive forming technology solutions ranging from mould processing to rapid prototyping for industries across the Guangdong‑Hong Kong‑Macao Greater Bay Area.
